Prof. Jon Truby

Dr. Jon Truby is a distinguished expert in GDPR data privacy, bringing a wealth of experience and qualifications that underscore his suitability for advising on complex data privacy challenges. Holding CIPP/E and CIPM certifications and serving as an IAPP certified trainer, Dr. Truby's in-depth knowledge of GDPR compliance is highlighted. He is one of the Middle East’s few certified CIPP/E trainers, serving as the CEO of DataPrivacy.Academy and MENA Executive Training, the IAPP’s Official Training Partner in the Middle East. Notably, he is the exclusive Middle East trainer selected by the IAPP to offer the new AI Governance Professional Certification (AGIP).

Dr. Truby's academic credentials include a First Class Honours Degree in Law, a PhD in Law from Newcastle University, and a Postgraduate Legal Diploma from the University of Law. His experience spans both legal academia and practice in London and Qatar, and he holds positions such as Visiting AI and GDPR Law Professor at Newcastle University.
